Requesting a New Workstation

Prerequisites

  • Should have enough budget allocated for the logged-in user.
  • Availability of application licenses for the logged-in user.

Steps to Request a Workstation

  1. Navigate to the Catalog Menu
  2. Open the HPC Dashboard and go to the Workstation menu.
  3. Click on the Catalog section, where preconfigured images for Windows and Linux servers are available.

Workstation Request Form

  1. Select a Preconfigured Image
  2. Each catalog entry contains images with preinstalled tools in various versions.

  3. Subscribe to Launch

  4. Click Subscribe next to your selected image.
  5. Provide a name for your workstation using alphabets, numbers, underscores, or hyphens. Special characters are auto-replaced with a hyphen.

  6. Choose Instance Type

  7. Select a suitable instance type from the list allowed by the HPC admin.
  8. Click Request to proceed.

  1. Admin Notification
  2. A notification is sent to the HPC admin for approval.

  3. Admin Action

  4. The admin can view requests under the New Request section.

  • They can Approve or Reject requests.

  1. Track Request History
  2. Approved/Rejected requests are moved to Request History.
  3. User will be notified of the decision.

  1. Launch Approved Workstation
  2. Approved workstations will appear under the Workstations menu.
  3. You can then launch them.

  1. Rejected Requests
  2. Rejected requests can be deleted by the user.
